As part of our efforts to keep you abreast of things archaeological, I’d like to draw your attention to a documentary on BBC 4 tonight. Its an episode of BBC 2’s excellent Timewatch franchise. Cunningly entitled “Roman Britain: A Timewatch Guide” it is just that. What is interesting is that it will be using BBC archive material to show how our knowledge, understanding and, perhaps more importantly, our interpretation of the Romans in Britain has changed over the past 50 years. It airs at 22.00hrs and is presented by Prof Alice Roberts of the University of Birmingham.
