Gadzooks! ‘Tis the Great Tudor Farming Day!

tudor farming pic 2

Children can dress in Tudor outfits, before having a go at spinning and weaving, farming and cooking, reed light making, or watching a play (performed by the appalling Pathetic Players). You can meet a Tudor Quack,  discover how to research your local history, write with a quill, or take a tour of Tudor landscape and wildlife.  If that’s not enough then you can have a go at dry hedging, join in with some archaeological activities, learn a traditional Tudor Dance or become part of an Oxen Plough Team.

It’s all happening at The Dove Valley Environmental Centre on Sunday 5th July, starting at 12 noon and finishing at 4.00pm.  It’s donation-only outdoor event, so wear suitable clothing for a day outside in the English summer and bring a packed lunch and wellies (to keep your feet dry if it’s been raining the night before).  Further information on the National Park Website at www.peakdistrict.gov.uk or on www.dovevalleycentre.co.uk

Ian I will be there all day!
