Continuing Professional Development For Teachers

Peak District CPD Opportunities
We currently provide two CPD courses for teachers: 10,0000 years in a day, which takes you on a walking journey to learn what the Peak District landscape can teach us about the past over the last 10000 years; and Prehistory in the Peak which focuses on the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age. We are extremely lucky to live within a landscape that has meant the remains of many periods of time are reflected all around us. Once you know what you are looking for, you will never look at the landscape in the same way again!

10,000 Years
In A Day
A one-day walking workshop that runs on certain days from May to September and has been developed to meet the challenges teachers face posed by teaching the history curriculum throughout the key stages.
The workshop is based in the Peak District of Derbyshire, which we use as an accessible extension to your learning base.
The day brings the curriculum alive using the landscape of the National Park as one of our resources.

Prehistory
in the Peak
A whole day workshop travelling around the Peak District visiting some of the most interesting and indicative sites from the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
This CPD workshop is aimed at KS2 teachers teaching the Stone Age to Iron Age and will give a good grounding in these often tricky to grasp and vast periods of time.
The Peak District is home to archaeological sites of all periods, and prehistory is no exception. This will be a day to remember!
