Archaeology in Action at Abbeydale!

This Sunday, 12th July, Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet will be hosting an Archaeology in Action Day as part of the Festival of Archaeology 2015.

As well as being associated with the Festival of Archaeology, events during the day are also part of the very first Children’s University Festival of Fun. A highlight will be a new interactive interpretation experience based on stories from the Sheffield Outrages of the 1860s, which will give children the chance to play detective and see if they can find out ‘Who shot Mr Tyzack?’

Set in the 1860s, during what was known as the Sheffield Outrages, dramatic performances throughout the day, along the chance to question characters in their natural settings, will give clues as to the person or persons responsible. Will we ever know the truth?
